The LAZ Charitable Foundation was created in 2009.
2009 – The founding partners of LAZ Parking decided it was time to start giving back to the communities in which we work and live in. A challenge was made to the 8,000 plus employee base to find a charity that the foundation could start supporting. After receiving several solicitations, the top three finalists were flown to Hartford and asked to present their case. The selection was not an easy one, but the strongest case came from an employee whose child was benefitting from the Special Olympics Organization. As a result, the Laz Charitable Foundation was officially started on December 21, 2009. The following year the foundation received its determination letter from the IRS and officially became a public charity. Over the years our impact has grown from that one organization to over 80 organizations.
Today – The LAZ Charitable Foundation is committed to being a legacy foundation. Today our purpose is to elevate humanity through business. “Elevating humanity” refers to the collective effort to improve the overall well-being, dignity, and quality of life for all people. It involves fostering a society where individuals are empowered, educated, and provided with opportunities to reach their full potential. Elevating humanity encompasses promoting equality, social justice, compassion, and understanding among diverse communities. It aims to lift people out of poverty, ignorance, and oppression, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives and contribute positively to society. Ultimately, elevating humanity strives to create a world where everyone is valued, respected, and has the chance to thrive.
